A standard ball machine sits in one corner and fires. The Acemate tracks the ball, drives to it and plays it back, so you are moving, recovering and playing actual points.

A coach feeding balls by hand is a coach not watching your technique.
Older ball machines are heavy and mains-powered, so they effectively live wherever they are installed. That works for a club with a dedicated court. It does not work for a player training across condominium courts and public centres.
Specifications are hard to picture. Watching the machine chase a ball down and put it back over the net is not. Note how it repositions between shots, which is what separates it from a static ball launcher.
